Weird name, great song.
The French group "Phoenix" performing live (to the surprise of many a passer-by) at the Trocadero in Paris.
A fun creative video of Beck's "Girl" off his 2005 album Guero. Apparently (and perhaps ubelievably) filmed in East L.A. Warning: might become an ear-worm.

We are off to Mexico over Thanksgiving to spend a week together and visit some great friends. This video reminded me that there's nothing quite like a Sunday afternoon in many sleepy Latin American towns. Merida, Mexico is the location for this video by the Bombay Bicycle Club "Lights Out, Words Gone". It looks fun to be retired and relaxed!
Carimi is a Haitian band that released their first album in 2001. Though now living in the US, Carimi comes home to play often. Here they mix a familiar hip-hop style video with modern kompa music (minus the slightly random introduction). Here's part of the chorus so you can test your Creole:
Ou pa bezwen fimen (Tu n'as pas besoin de fumer; You don't need to smoke)
Poum santi mwen high (Pour me sentir high; To make me feel high)
Se Carimi ki ka fe mwen high now (C'est Carimi qui peut me faire high; It's Carimi that can make me high)
Montreal-based Arcade Fire is a huge supporter of Partners in Health (PIH) in Haiti. Of Haitian origin herself, lead singer Régine Chassagne travels down quite often joined by her co-lead and husband Win Butler. We had seats right beside the stage during the band's recent visit to Haiti at a small venue in Port au Prince. This song "Haiti" is off their debut full-length album in 2004, "Funeral", which would be nominated for a Grammy in 2005 for Best Alternative Rock Album.
After being re-introduced to Ben Folds, we had to post "Army"
We were obsessed with this song after watching the movie "One Week"
Montreal- we miss you!
From Italy...
Una Bogotana!
Great song, fantastic video!
